Dr. Nouraiz is a post-doctoral scientist currently affiliated with the research group of Prof. David R. Liu at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard in the United States. He holds a Master’s degree in Life Sciences from the University of Munich in Germany and obtained his PhD in Hematopoietic Stem Cell Biology from the Department of Biosystems Science and Engineering at ETH Zurich in Switzerland, under the mentorship of Prof. Timm Schroeder. During his doctoral studies, he investigated the control of hematopoietic stem cell lineage commitment, employing cutting-edge quantitative live imaging techniques at the single-cell level to unravel longstanding queries in the field. His contributions earned him the ISEH New Investigator Postdoctoral Award in Scotland in 2022. His current research endeavours are centred on the targeted therapeutic delivery of genome-editing tools to hematopoietic, neuro, and cardiac tissues, as a one-time permanent treatment for genetic diseases. His long-term goal is to translate fundamental discoveries and knowledge into tangible solutions that positively impact patients' lives, thereby bridging the gap between scientific innovation and clinical application.
