Alyssa completed a Ph.D. in 2017. Her doctoral work focused on the biophysical properties of RNA and was supported by a Graduate Research Fellowship from the U.S. National Science Foundation. From 2017 to 2023, Alyssa carried out postdoctoral work in pharmaceutical chemistry at Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule (ETH) Zürich, Switzerland. Her projects tackled delivery challenges for nucleic acid therapeutics, particularly small interfering RNAs (siRNAs), antisense oligonucleotides (ASOs), and ASO conjugates, with support from the Novartis Research Foundation, Swiss National Science Foundation, and Roche Innovation Center Copenhagen. Alyssa leads an in vitro ASO screening workstream within the CureHeart consortium.
