Radcliffe Department of Medicine (Division of Cardiovascular Medicine), University of Oxford
Hailing from New Zealand, Jonathan completed his undergraduate (MBiochem) in Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry at the University of Oxford, graduating with a 1st-class degree as Proxime Accessit (2nd) of his 2022 cohort. Specifically, his Master's research with Prof. Yang Shi identified potential therapeutic targets in a paediatric brain cancer. Inspired by summer research with Prof. Jacques Fellay at EPFL, he pivoted to computational biology/bioinformatics and now builds multifactorial, predictive models of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy using genomic, proteomic and clinical data with Prof. Hugh Watkins and Prof. Anuj Goel. His work aims to integrate these diverse data types to identify patients most at risk of adverse clinical outcomes and so, most in need of CureHeart.
